New stuff

On Memorial Day, I decided that it was time to hang some new panels, which required ironing and dedication to complete the project. E decided that I needed to spruce up my laptop, you know, for spring.   

 

Sorry kid, you are the Elmo fan here, not me, especially not 2 Elmo stickers! I am loving the new brand. So, now, Jimmy is a PC, I am a Banana. Well, I took no more pictures of the laptop, seeing that clicks of the camera would encourage such behavior, which did not matter, she put about 5 more stickers on my Banana. This is why dads should call home before buying stuff for kids, most likely, it will be vetoed. 

 

Here is E deciding if she should just dump over the pot of soil all in one motion or slowly disperse it among the concrete...she chose the latter.  Again, clicks are encouragement.

I Have Never Cared for the Color Purple

We, the fam, took a car trip to my in-laws' cabin for a day; we stopped at the Renaissance Festival en route. Kid E and I had fun in the back seat:

This affair is really big here, it is every weekend in the month of May, this was it's fourteenth year in operation. It is amazing, so many patrons dress in costume, as well as all of the employees of the event. 

My sister-in-law helps her significant other with the operation, they look really cute!

The festival had been opened for nearly an hour when we arrived and it was already full of people. This sign

The kid is in costume because as her loving parents, we feel that it is our duty to put her in clothing that is scratchy, synthetic, and inappropriate for voiding, especially after consuming mass quantities of liquids due to aforementioned clothing.

E loves rocks-always has, so, there were a few stops for her to enjoy the best toys in life, the free ones.

 

E also loves animals, but, the closer that she got to some, she became apprehensive to touch them, except for the ponies, loved the ponies. 

 

She cried when the ride was over. The faery's dad enjoyed every weapon-throwing game on the premises. He was best at axe throwing, look out lame jesters...

 

The parasol has a spot in our home now, it is purple and I love it! Thanks Heather.

I Heart Green Stuff

I enjoyed a quiet breakfast al fresco, I had to light a citronella candle because mosquitoes are already out around here and my skin is attracted to bug bites.

My meal is quite healthy, I suggest that you try it sometime, sausage, Philly cream cheese--not fresh (sorry), and my biscuit recipe that I love so much. Oh, you cannot forget the Izze. I love Izze. Orange and apple flavor are the best, grapefruit, so-so.

Here are some begonias that I planted late last summer, they are back and look great.

There is a family of begonias and this is the baby, isn't she cute? 

 

Well, I must prepare the holiday weekend. I have a lot of nothing to do.

Dirty Grrrl

Kid E loves to be outdoors, I love to weed. One of those statements is true, the other has an unnecessary preposition...
It was time to go out and exercise our loves, I asked kid E to get a hairbow (long bangs) and she came back with these shades that she received as a newborn and a cute bow.  

I found these garden tools and the bag at Pottery Barn Kids on sale for $20. I passed on it the first time I saw it because it was $40! The quality of both the bag and tools are excellent. Husband did use the transplanter for planting our onions, as it was small enough.

 

It was my intent to get rid of these crappy pots, but, E loves them so much, and I feel obligated to make her happy.

Not Quite Gene Kelly

One morning, when kid and I should have been getting dressed for the day, she had a great idea to go outside.  In the pouring rain.  Pouring.



We kept on our pjs and suited up. Finally, the rain boots that she owns has actually been worn in the rain, not with skirts and pajamas on dry days.



Not too sure what is going on here...



It was all fun until she attempted to walk in front of the pond and slipped on the rocks. I personally felt as if the fun had just begun, but, I was not the one with boots full of water, either.
