I did not really review The Essential A-Line on the last post, I've only made the one skirt, which I mentioned how much I loved it, I did show pics of other skirts, too, so I'll talk a little more about it today and on future ones.
After coming home from Portland, I visited our Bernina shop, they had the book there, it was nice to see! I told the owner that I loved that they had it and she said that they use it for their skirt club because it is a great pattern and doesn't suck! Ha! The size range is wide, I made an XS, my waist is 26 & hip is 35. Whoa, I just put that out there. Jona shows you how to make small adjustments in the 2 darts (located in the back) based on if you have a flat bottom or round bottom, I love that. That's it, just 2 darts.
Here is a skirt from the book that Bari is wearing while showing her newest fabric line, Bijoux. I love the pleats and boots!
I hope everyone slightly interested tries out this pattern and enjoys making something for yourself! I appreciate all of your comments, I did not promote this giveaway because I wanted people to comment that were actually interested, I was going to just give it to someone locally that expressed true interest in it, but, I thought it deserved internet attention.
If you are local, I know at one point, both quilt shops (Oklahoma Quiltworks & Savage Quilter) had it as well as the aforementioned Bernina shop in OKC.
Now, to announce the lucky winner of the signed book!
#15, which is Shari:
Congratulations! If I hear from you before Thursday, I'll ship your book this week! When you make a skirt, post the finished project in the Flickr group.
Thanks for reading and have a great Independence Day, I will be relaxing by binding a Do. Good stitches quilt that is way overdue to mail.
